The holidays mean I need a full range of outfits, from casual to festive. Starting with Halloween, my weekends fill up fast, and it’s a whirlwind of events right through the new year. From Friendsgivings and tree-trimming parties to Santa Brunch and our big Christmas night gathering, I’m looking for versatile options that will keep me looking festive without breaking the bank.
Since I’m in my tuition-paying era, I’m all about finding affordable, stylish pieces that feel special but don’t require a big splurge. Amazon has been my go-to for early holiday finds that hit the mark—great prices, unique styles, and the convenience of quick delivery.

Starting off strong with this stunning color block cardigan, available in a range of combinations. I picked this up in dark brown to wear with slim legging boots and these suede sock boots from Amazon’s The Drop, also in brown.
I think it will be nice for Thanksgiving week, polished, but cozy.
Note the layer underneath in the featured image, this is the shape and cut you want to keep it feeling light and proportionate.

I ordered this lovely puff sleeve cardigan with bow buttons specifically to wear with these Gap Factory Satin Pants, on sale for $45 and these velvet flats in black. But I’m also going to pair it with these faux leather trousers, and even a simple pair of great fitting jeans.
The cardigan fits right at your waist, so it works well with higher waisted bottoms, and the pretty bow buttons can be removed to wash.
While you can wear this open, I think it looks best closed with a neutral lightweight cami. I ordered the pink (featured) and might go back for the black.

This next one is not going to be for everyone. Frankly, it’s out of my comfort zone, but I bought this Tie Front Peplum Cotton Blouse because I think it’s fun, and I’m fun. Right?
You will need to steam this out of the package, and, obviously, I’m not wearing this with nothing underneath. It goes over a cami.
But it looks cute with slim jeans and ballet flats. And it’s cotton so it’s a nice option for our readers in warmer climates.

What’s NOT out of my comfort zone is an elevated sweatshirt – an immediate add to cart for me.
The Mock Neck Puff Long Sleeve Sweatshirt comes in three colors, I ordered apricot (featured – reads more like a beige) and black. It has little bit of stretch, and nice sturcture while still being comfortable.
I will probably wear this to Thanksgiving with the Gap Factory Baby Bootcut Jeans in a medium wash and the suede sock boots from Amazon’s The Drop in brown.

We through a big Christmas Night party, it started a few years ago when we began inviting everyone we knew over for dinner who had nothing else to do and it’s morphed into one of my favorite nights of the year. And I’ve decided I’m going to be decked in holiday attire going forward, so I ordered this Sequin Velvet Maxi Skirt in navy as an option.
I love navy around the holidays, it’s not so on the nose like red or green, but it stills special. I’ll wear it with this navy cashmere sweater from Quince for $50.

Another way we are saving money and staying holiday-read is buying decorative shoe clips.
Yes, shoe clips. I remember using these in high school on my shoes for formals – why did we stop.
You can turn your favorite basics into glamorous heels for under $10. There are hundreds of options on Amazon, I happed to like these bow clips, in silver or gold tone for under $8.
I have several pairs of the Marc Fisher Zala Pumps and plan on clipping these onto my suede pair in black.
Why spend time searching for a comfortable special occasion heel when you can make what you have work for very little money.
