This season is the perfect time to reconnect with that joy. With more opportunities for festive gatherings and special moments, there are plenty of chances to have fun putting together outfits and trying something new, and outside your style comfort zone.
Here’s a recent look I put together that blends timeless investment pieces with budget-friendly Amazon finds. It’s a chic, modern outfit featuring a trending cropped trench—classic, polished, and effortlessly updated.
Oh, look—skinny jeans! Because let’s be honest, what else works as perfectly with knee-high boots? This is exactly why I’ve always recommended holding onto at least one pair of skinnies.
These boots are the Pipper Boot from J.Crew, which I featured last year. They’re still available in black, and while I paid full price ($328), they’ve been worth every penny. Every time I wear them, I think, “I’m so glad I have these.” They look fantastic with everything from jeans to tights and a sweater dress.
My skinny jeans are by Joe’s (linked here), but honestly, any pair you have will work. There’s no need to splurge for this look—your trusty, budget-friendly skinnies will do the trick just as well.

- Earrings: These modern hoops (featured back in July) are under $15 and ideal for sensitive ears.
