Thank you to Gap Factory for sponsoring this post.
Birds are chirping, the sun is setting later, and the first glimpses of spring are popping up everywhere.
I am instantly in a better mood when the sun shines, and the air feels crisp. I’m excited to get up, get dressed, and get out the door.
Our friends at Gap Factory are having an early spring savings event. Up to 75% off sitewide + an extra 10% off with code GFEXTRA! (some exclusions apply, code details here )
I found several wardrobe basics for spring at can’t-beat prices that will have you feeling put together on even your most casual days.
I thought I would take you through a typical day of outfits on a busy work from home day that ends with sneaking out for mid-week date with my husband.
For reference I am 5’10 and took a medium in the pieces above. In jeans I wear a 29 regular length.
Early Morning
This time of year, our days are extra long. The kids leave for school a little after 7 am, and practices go until almost 8 pm. So, I’m making a real effort to get up before the girls to work out, organize my day, and get dressed.
I bought the Relaxed Cloudlight Polo Sweatshirt and Cloudlight Wide-Leg Pants (both in the medium) and looked at how perfect they are. It’s so comfortable and elegant, but essentially, it’s just a sweatsuit.
I’m wearing the tan chino (not see-through), also available in black and green in sizes XS – XXL.
This would be a great look for travel days, too.
School Pick Up/ Running Around
My husband works from home a couple of days a week, so we rotate school pick-up so I get a few days where I can work until six without interruption.
When I do pick-ups, there are always more stops like the dry cleaners, and the grocery store.
I love the contrast of a sporty, casual lounge set under a classic jacket, and their Modern Trench Coat is perfect to create the look.
This fits so well, and the length is just right. Available in XS – XXL.
People always ask me why I wear so many neutrals, and this why. It’s so easy to mix and match and you look elegant even when you are wearing affordable pieces.
Quick Change
Our weekends book up quickly with kids’ commitments, so when we have a break in the action, or a rare night when practices end early, Bri and I will run out for a quick mid-week dinner without the kids – to hear ourselves think.
We’re lucky to have a dozen restaurants within a ten-minute drive, so it’s easy to grab a seat at a bar and catch up. I like to change out of what I wear all day, to create a bit of separation, but I don’t want to reinvent the wheel.
I ordered this sweet Sweater Jacket to pair with jeans. You’ll see sweater jackets continue to trend. They are wonderfully practical and ideal to pair with your jeans.
I chose the Off White option, but you can choose from Light Blue, Navy Stripe, or Black in XS – XXL. I took the medium but would go up a size if you are in between.
I’m wearing it over the Favorite Tank, available in regular, tall and petite in XS – XXL, on sale for $10.19.
I paired it with our favorite Mid Rise Baby Boot Jeans in Medium Wash, available in sizes 24 – 35 in short, regular, and long. I took the 29 in regular length.
