I created our What to Buy at series to help our readers sort through the seasonal new arrivals in popular mainstream retailers.
Today, I’m highlighting Boden, a brand that, over the last year, has become a favorite within our community, with the most popular piece being their go-to classic stripe Breton for only $40.
Even with my knowledge and experience, I find their website hard to navigate.
It’s organized well enough, but some of their clothes, styles, and prints are so outside my style aesthetic I can’t see the good stuff.
If I didn’t know that Boden had some classic hidden gems I wouldn’t make it past their homepage. And while I’m not a fan of many of their prints, I found a few I love this season.
So before you jump off the site, I promise you that underneath the over-styled photos and excessively preppy mix and match prints are some fantastic, timeless, elevated pieces you can all spring and summer long.
They also offer a range of sizes, from 2 to 22, including petite and tall options in select styles. They are a UK retailer, so check their size chart before you order.
Below I rounded up various styles, from classic basics to stand-alone stunners.
What to Buy at Boden
When edited, you have a lovely collection of better pieces that will add real value and versatility to your wardrobe.
Boden isn’t one of those retailers with an almost weekly promotion in terms of pricing. Instead, they sell at retail, and if things are left over at the end of the season, it goes on clearance.
It’s refreshing because you know the price is everyone is paying.
For today’s feature, I have several basic shapes, BUT I encourage you to look at their complete selection because there are different colors and prints with each SKU.

Fixed Wrap Jersey Maxi Dress
Fixed Wrap Jersey Maxi Dress, $160
You’ll be shocked to hear that I ordered this dress in this pattern because I think it’s so fun and cheerful. I love everything about it.
This is a full-length Maxi dress, not a Midi and what they call a “fixed” wrap. Meaning it’s a faux wrap dress that stays stationary.
There is a slight puff to the sleeve, nothing to run away from, and the V neckline balances it out.
If you need to, shortening the hem of this would be easy.
Also available in black, regular, and petite, from a 2 – 20/22.
Puff Shoulder Jersey Dress
Puff Shoulder Jersey Dress, $150
The flat lay of this dress does it no service. It’s so cute on, see here.
Especially pretty if you have a small frame and want to create some shape.
Available in navy (above) and what they are calling “Oriental Palm” which is GORGEOUS, in regular and long sizes in 2. – 20/22.
Striped Envelope Clutch
Because I cannot pass up a pink and red moment and I like the to carry rather than wear bold pieces.
Also available in blue stripe, but the pink and red is much more fun.
Frill Sleeve Knitted T-Shirt
Frill Sleeve Knitted T-Shirt, $85
Pair this pretty knit tee with simple summer bottoms, like shorts or even wide legged cropped pants.
The subtle frill on the sleeve adds a pretty detail without looking too sweet.
Available in poppy (above), navy and lemon in size 2 – 20/22.
Flutter Sleeve Wrap Top
We’ve talked a lot recently about pieces you can wear to replace a boring plain tee shirt, and this flutter sleeve wrap top is another lovely example.
It elevates your look ever so slightly without being out of place. It looks great with jeans, chinos, skirt, or shorts.
I’m showing the white above, but it’s also available in black and a really pretty blue and white botanical print that would be ideal to pair with your white jeans.
Linen Shirt
Linen Shirt, $90
You don’t get more classic than a tailored linen shirt and I adore this one, available in NINE prints and color ways, in petite, regular and tall, sizes 2 – 20/22.
Yes you have to iron it or have it sent out to be pressed, and yes it will still wrinkle a bit.
Short Sleeve Wrap Top
When I worked with my private clients at the being of a new season, there were always a few pieces I knew would work for almost everyone. And this is a top I would have put in everyone’s dressing room!
Everything about it is fabulous. I love it, from the flattering v-neck to a generous short sleeve and the ruche detail at the sides that help define whatever kind of waistline you have.
Snaffle Chain Necklace
I love an elaborate yet simple chain necklace that fills in the neckline of a collar. This one is so pretty and looks likes a lot more special than its $60 price point.
Embroidered Notch Neck Top

I almost didn’t include this gorgeous embroidered top because it is going to take 4 weeks to get it in, but it’s just so pretty.
There are other color pairings but the black and white is STUNNING, and I love how elegantly they styled it.
