I like to revisit recommendations we’ve made and give little updates.
When I learned that LolaVie, the hair care company Jennifer Aniston launched in 2021, is now available at Ulta, I thought now would be the perfect time to reshare our review.
Few celebrity brands get me excited. I like a lot of goop products, and my girls introduced me to Selena Gomez’s make-up brand, Rare Beauty.
But by and large, I think most of them are nothing more than a paid endorsement, and they don’t motivate me to purchase.
However, this is Jennifer Aniston, goddess of good hair and former co-owner and spokesperson for Living Proof, one of the best hair care lines I’ve ever used.
Before I dive in, please note this is not a sponsored post.
I purchased both products I’m reviewing and continue to do so over a year later.
Beauty Review: LolaVie
LolaVie started with two products: The Glossing Detangler and The Perfecting Leave-in Conditioner.
You can now get The Prefecting Leave-in Conditioner, 5 oz. for $29.
And The Glossing Detangler in either 5 oz for $26 or 12 oz for $49.
They now offer shampoo and conditioner, but the leave-in conditioner and the detangler are the two “hero” products.
Packaging
Let’s start with the packaging, which is identical for both products.
If you order from the LolaVie site your products will be wrapped tightly in a light piece of paper in a shipper box designed to hold them together perfectly.
This is important for a few reasons.
First of all, we’ve all ordered a pack of Post-It Notes from Amazon and had it arrive in a box the size of a refrigerator.
While that is incredibly wasteful, people don’t realize, especially with beauty and self-care products, that so much of what we spend as the consumer goes into packaging, whether it’s the pretty bottle we see on a shelf or the actual shipping box.
This level of attention to detail the team at LolaVie used in thoughtfully and efficiently packaging and shipping their product is a good sign that the consumer’s dollars are being respected and going into the R&D of the product and not the unnecessary bells and whistles that end up getting thrown away. This is refreshing to see from a hair care brand.
Thankfully, gone are the days that we need some elaborate box to make us think the product is high-end.
Today, it’s about results.
As I mentioned, I originally ordered the 5 oz bottles with a clean and chic design, and you can feel that each one is filled with product, another good sign.
Both products are vegan, cruelty-free, color-safe, and suitable for all hair types.
In addition, they are formulated without silicones, sulfates (SLS/SLES), parabens, gluten, and phthalates.
Both products also work as a heat protector.
LolaVie Review
The Glossing Detangler
The Glossing Detangler
LolaVie
$26.00The Glossing Detangler is one of the BEST hair products I’ve ever bought. I bought in 2021 and I’ve been using it every since.
LolaVie Glossing Detangler is a super lightweight spray-on product that does more than just eliminate tangles. Every spray of this detangler has left my hair looking and feeling unbelievably healthy and radiant.
It contains lemon extract to give your hair an impossible shine, a “superfruit complex” and vegetable ceramides to make your hair silky smoothe, and chia seeds to protect against damage.
In addition to managing my poker straight, dry, damaged, and processed hair, I have three girls with very different hair types.
My oldest’s hair is thick and wavy, my middle’s is also thick but with more curl, and you’ve all seen my little one’s head full of perfect ringlets.
I’ve spent a good portion of the last 16 years dealing with tangles and tears and now, I use this on everyone.
It is the best detangler I have ever used.
Compared to It’s a 10!
Even better than It’s a 10!
And let’s talk about It’s a 10! for a moment because so many people love it.
We used it for years and it was fine, but I was never blown away.
LolaVie is better.
Also a 4 oz bottle of It’s a 10! is $21 at Ulta,
A 5 oz bottle of LolaVie is $26 and you to need less product to get results.
And now you can get a 12 oz bottle for $49.
I use the detangler every time I wash my hair which is almost daily. It’s light, not sticky, sprays easily and leaves your hair with a lovely shine.
You can use one or both products, but if you use them together, use the detangler first.
The Perfecting Leave-in Conditioner
The Perfecting Leave-In Conditioner

$29.00As I mentioned, my hair is heavily processed, and I have no intention of stopping that anytime soon.
I am naturally dark, so getting my hair blond-ish takes a lot of work and causes a lot of damage.
I also use a ton of heat when I style, so I need something to hydrate and soothe my hair, so the ends don’t look fried.
Ladies, this stuff is incredible.
You can play around with how frequently you use this.
So far, I’ve done two things.
On the rare occasion I’m home and don’t need to look pulled together, I’ll wash my hair (I still use the Alterna Caviar Shampoo), use the detangler on wet hair with my wet brush, and then when my hair is towel dried, I’ll work in the leave-in conditioner almost like hair mask.
It is wonderfully light and doesn’t weigh your hair down. So I can pull it in a bun and let it air dry.
The other way I use it is as a pre-styler, so if I know I’m hitting my hair with my hairdryer (still the T3) and my curling iron (also the T3), I’ll skip a traditional conditioner and use this. Thanks to ingredients like bamboo essence, this leave-in conditioner really does help your hairstyle stay in place.
Because somehow, it works to condition, repair, hydrate, AND hold your style.
Final Word
Both products are a 10/10.
And having them available at Ulta is a major plus since they have a lot of locations, an easy to manager website, and, if you’re like me, you might have a couple gift cards burning a whole in your pocket.
They now also offer travel sizes that are ideal if you are getting on a plane anytime soon or just want to try it out.
