If you spend time on Instagram or follow Jennifer Aniston, you know that the Friends star recently launched a company called Lolavie.
Now, I’m not one to get all googly-eyed over a celebrity product line unless it’s goop; I love goop.
But by and large, I think they are nothing more than a paid endorsement and they don’t motivate me to make a purchase.
However, this is Jennifer Aniston, goddess of good hair and former co-owner and spokesperson for Living Proof, one of the best hair care lines I’ve ever used.
So when I heard she was working on a specialized hair care line, I was immediately intrigued.
Before I dive in, please note, this is not a sponsored post, and I am not receiving compensation in any way for this review. I personally purchased both products I’m reviewing.
So I can say whatever I want. 😉
Lolavie: An Unsponsored Review
Lolavie currently offers two products (I purchased both): The Glossing Detangler and The Protecting Leave-in Conditioner.
Both are 5 oz, both are $25 with quick and free shipping.
Packaging
Let’s start with the packaging, which is identical for both products. I should have taken a picture, but I’ll update this when I get my next order – because there will be a next order 😉
I received the two bottles, wrapped tightly in a light piece of paper in a shipper box designed to hold them together perfectly.
This is important for a few reasons.
First of all, we’ve all ordered a pack of Post-It Notes from Amazon and had it arrive in a box the size of a refrigerator.
While that is incredibly wasteful, people don’t realize, especially with beauty and self-care products, that so much of what we spend as the consumer goes into packaging, whether it’s the pretty box we see on a shelf or the actual shipping box.
This level of attention to detail the team at Lolavie used in packaging and shipping their product is a good sign that the consumer’s dollars are going into the R&D of the product and not the unnecessary bells and whistles that end up getting thrown away.
Thankfully, gone are the days that we need some elaborate box to make us think the product is high-end.
Today, it’s about results.
As I mentioned, both bottles are 5 oz, with a clean and chic design, and you can feel that each one is filled with product, another good sign.
Both products are vegan, cruelty-free, color-safe, and suitable for all hair types. In addition, they are formulated without silicones, sulfates (SLS/SLES), parabens, gluten, and phthalates.
Both products also work as a heat protector.
The Glossing Detangler
Possibly the BEST beauty product I’ve bought in all of 2021.
And remember, I don’t get a commission or sponsorship dollars from this post.
In addition to managing my poker straight, dry, damaged, and processed hair, I have three girls with very different hair types.
My oldest’s hair is thick and wavy, my middle has thinner and more curl, and you’ve all seen my baby’s head full of perfect ringlets.
I’ve spent a good portion of the last 14 years dealing with tangles and tears and now, I use this on everyone.
My teenager is constantly stealing it, so I’ll be adding it to both of my big girls stockings.
It is the best detangler I have ever used. Even better than It’s a 10!
And let’s talk about It’s a 10! for a moment because so many people love it. We used it for years and it was fine, but I was never blown away. Lolavie is better.
Also a 4 oz bottle of It’s a 10! is $19 at Ulta,
A 5 oz bottle of Lolavie is $25 and you to need less product to get results.
I use the detangler every time I wash my hair which is almost daily. It’s light, not sticky, sprays easily and leaves your hair with a lovely shine.
You can one or both products, but if you use them together, use the detangler first.
The Protecting Leave-in Conditioner
As I mentioned, my hair is heavily processed, and I have no intention of stopping that anytime soon.
I am naturally dark and very light blond by choice. I also use a ton of heat when I style, so I need something to hydrate and soothe my hair, so the ends don’t look fried.
Ladies. This stuff is incredible.
You can play around with how frequently you use this. So far, I’ve done two things.
First, on days I’m home and not planning on going anywhere special, I’ll wash my hair (I still use the Alterna Caviar Shampoo), use the detangler on wet hair with my wet brush, and then when my hair is towel dried, I’ll work this in.
It is wonderfully light and doesn’t weigh your hair down. So I can pull it in a bun and let it air dry.
The other way I use it is as a pre-styler, so if I know I’m hitting my hair with my hairdryer (still the T3) and my curling iron (also the T3), I’ll skip a traditional conditioner and use this. Because somehow, it works to condition, repair, hydrate, AND hold your style.
Final Word
Both products are a 10/10.
