Thank you, Talbots, for sponsoring this post.
I love living where we live on the East Coast.
We’re a mere two-hour drive to our favorite beach, or go 45 minutes north and you’re in Bucks County, the perfect fall destination.
You can see the leaves change, take the kids pumpkin or apple picking or spend the day exploring.
My favorite thing to do this time of year is take a day off mid-week, drive to New Hope or Lambertville, have lunch, and stroll in and out of shops.
It’s so peaceful and feels like a real escape, like walking around a postcard.
And what makes it extra special is the perfect fall outfit, which I recently found at Talbots in their new arrivals.
I make no exaggeration when I say I adore this outfit.
And we love Talbots for their range of inclusive sizes, with classic, updated styles perfect for this time of year.
This time of year, the key to a great outfit is the coat.
I call them “Outfit Coats.”
They are what you wear when you are spending the day outside, in and out of stores, stopping for a coffee, grabbing a drink with friends, sightseeing, etc.
The coat is the statement, it pulls an otherwise simple look together, adding real impact.
This plaid wool blend coat is available in misses, petite, plus and plus petite.
The colors are stunning – a mix of greens, with a pop of mustard yellow and pink
It goes well with shades of brown, grey or dark denim
I paired it with this cognac Saddle Bag with contrasting top stitch.
It has an adjustable strap that allows you to carry it like a shoulder bag or a hands-free crossbody.
I love how the top stitch of the bag compliments the detail on the coat.
Underneath I have on their Cable Knit Funnel Neck Sweater in ivory.
When putting an outfit together for a day out, I like using simple layers that work together and can stand on their own. Something like this Cable Knit Sweater adds texture and interest without having to add more layers.
And it’s cozy.
Available in five colors in misses, petite, plus and plus petite.
