Wear Now and Later Finds from Talbots

Thank you, Talbots, for sponsoring this post.

We love Talbots for their classic style, quality staples, and range of inclusive sizes.

And right now, their new arrivals are full of pieces you can wear now and later – ideal for soaking up the last of summer and getting ready for early fall.

Today, I am highlighting a few wardrobe builders you can wear now and easily take into fall.

4 Wear Now and Later Looks from Talbots

PIMA BATEAU NECK TEE // HOUNDSTOOTH BLAZER // LIGHTWEIGHT STRETCH STAND COLLAR DRESS

PIMA BATEAU NECK TEE

PIMA BATEAU NECK TEE

This time of year, the number one request in my inbox is for a cotton, three-quarter sleeve top.

Just something with nice quality, that isn’t see-through at a reasonable price.

And Talbots has one of my absolute favorites.

Their PIMA BATEAU NECK TEE is a Reader Favorite, available in 15 colors, including white (above), ivory, and black, in misses, petite, plus and plus petite for under $45.

I wear it in the summer with shorts because I like the contrast of a covered arm with an exposed leg.

And also with simple skinnies and sandals on cool days at the beach, like I am above.

These run true to size and do not shrink in the wash.

HOUNDSTOOTH BLAZER

HOUNDSTOOTH BLAZER

The blow of summer ending is softened by the idea that sweater and blazer weather is around the corner.

And if you are looking for an updated blazer that works with both black and navy, consider this cotton-blend Houndstooth Blazer available in misses, petite, plus and plus petite.

One of the best parts of fall is all the layers so I took the blazer and added it over the Pima Bateau Neck Tee with a pair of dark jeans.

It will also work with these light wash straight leg ankle jeans, or your favorite black or navy trousers for the office.

LIGHTWEIGHT STRETCH STAND COLLAR DRESS

This lightweight dress with stretch might be the best transition dress I’ve ever found.

I like the color, the cinched waist and, of course, what girl doesn’t love pockets?

LIGHTWEIGHT STRETCH STAND COLLAR DRESS

Above, I styled it two ways

First for an end of summer date night with neutral sandals and a simple clutch.

And also with chic sneakers and an every day bag for running errands and taking the kids to school.

Take the dress even further into fall by adding a classic jean jacket.

I really, really like the houndstooth blazer, BuT, is it an enduring pattern style?

If I spend almost $200 this fall, am I going to need to discard it next fall or is it going to still be appropriate?

I am retired and do very little dressing up; so this would be worn to food shop, to church, or if I go on vacation. In other words, very little.

Everyone knows a plaid blazer is timeless and can be worn years. And, I think it's important to note that I write to a very specific audience of women who are 40 plus, most are professional, and if they aren't working or they are retired they have busy lives and enjoy clothes, fashion and feeling stylish. So if you're not interested in that, I don't know what to do with this comment.
