If you’ve read some of my other posts, you might have noticed that I’m a big fan of mini capsule wardrobes. Instead of one capsule, I prefer your wardrobe to be a collection of smaller capsules that you can mix and match to cover your various lifestyle needs.
The key to building a capsule wardrobe is finding versatile basics and pieces that can be worn in several ways.
But here’s the thing: basics don’t have to be boring.
Olive green pants are a fantastic example of an elevated basic that can give you many options when putting together an outfit.
They’re a great alternative to other neutral-colored pants or jeans, but you might be unsure how to wear olive green pants.
Today, I’m sharing a round-up of ways to style olive green pants to prove how timeless, modern and versatile they can be – featuring our best-selling pants of the spring season.
5 Olive Green Pants Outfit Ideas

The Athelta Endless High Rise Pants are a gem in your wardrobe. They might be the most versatile pants I’ve come across in a long time. They work in a polished and athleisure look, ideal for work, weekends, and travel.
Fit note: I am 5’10, and the regular lengths fit me like cropped pants, while the tall ones allow for a full-length leg. I have these in olive, black, and navy. And I bought the regular and tall in black to wear various heel heights.
You can see me in them here in regular length.
How to Style Olive Green Pants

Olive green pants are more versatile than many people realize.
Styling olive green pants is a breeze, as they can be paired in the same ways as your other closet neutrals, such as jeans or khaki pants.
The easiest way to style olive green pants is to pair them with a neutral top.
All of these featured looks can mix and match with each other, and most of the items featured you’ve seen before, though I did add a few new fab finds.
Olive Green Column with Pants, Tank and Tan Topper

Olive Green Pants, $109 |Tank, $16.99 | Jacket, $69.50 | Sneakers, $175 | Bag, $97| Earrings, $295
A great look for a travel day!
Grab your olive green pants, and a tank in a similar color. This one is from Gap and it’s not too long or too short. You’re creating a slimming column of color, which makes an ideal base for layers.
We’re topping it with this under $100 jacket from Nordstrom’s private label, Caslon, made of organic cotton. It’s a lovely option to have on hand as an extra layer. Would be great to take on flight, too.
Then our favorite Campo Low-Top Sneakers by Veja with a green accent. If you wear a lot of earth tones these might be a great add to your wardrobe.
Finally, these earrings from Monica Vinader are pricey but stunning. So do what you want with them, even if it’s just as inspiration. For a (MUCH) less expensive option you could go with this $10 pair from Amazon,
Tonal Stripes and Natural Details

Olive Green Pants, $109 |Tee, $68 | Earrings, $135 | Sandals, $155 | Bag, $128
This sweet top from Tuckernuck is available in olive stripe(featured), red, or navy. All of them are adorable. It skims your body (so it is not skin-tight) with a subtle puff twist sleeve. Sizes range from XS – XXXL, I usually take a medium.
Most of the look is from Tuckernuck. The shoes are from the brand French Sole. You’ve seen these dozens of times. They are my most worn flat sandals, and they are always appropriate.
And the bag, well, it might be the perfect summer occasion bag. Also from Tuckernuck, it’s a nice size and priced at $128.
Finally, the earrings are from Julie Vos, which compliments the Tuckernuck aesthetic well. You have 15 color options here. I went with the matchy-matchy option, but they have a pear, crystal, and champagne stone that would also be lovely.
Crisp White Shirt with Lady-Like Accessories

Olive Green Pants, $109 |Shirt, $36 |Shoes, $98| Bag, $128| Earrings, $75
This might be my favorite outfit in this round-up. Perfect for a lunch date and a day of shopping. (What a dream.)
I’m so happy to see cotton/poplin shirts in shorter lengths. The often feel overwhelming.
I added some of our tried and true, Reader Favorite accessories, like this pair of pearl studs from Julie Vos and this woven bag from Anthropolgoie.
And for shoes, how gorgeous are these flat sandals from beloved brand Jack Rogers for $98.
Monochrome with Texture

Olive Green Pants, $109 |Sweater, $30.99 |Shoes, $138| Bag, $18.99 | Earrings, $14.99
When wearing a monochromatic look, consider mixing different fabrics and textures of the same color. It’s an easy way to take a flat outfit and add visual interest without being busy.
Here, I’m using the best selling Old Navy open stitch sweater.
Then, some neutral, natural accessories.
First, these heels from Tuckernuck are divine. Are they practical? Probably not, but let’s have a little fun. They are actually well priced at $138. You can wear them here, or with wide leg linen pants, or dresses of any length.
The bag is under $20 from Amazon. I have this and it’s light and slim but fits anything you need.
And the earrings are also from Amazon, just a simple gold hoop for $15.
Sporty Sneakers and Denim Jacket

Olive Green Pants, $109 |Denim Jacket, $79.95 |Tee, $98 | Bag, $98 | Necklace, $148
Finally, for something “basic” but updated, start with a high quality white tee.
I like this one from Eileen Fisher. Available in XXS – 3X in organic cotton with a hard to find elbow length sleeve. It’s $98, but has incredibly fit and washes like iron.
Then I added these Tretron white sneakers , on sale for under $60. I have these. They are like modern day Keds: simple, affordable, goes with everything.
The olive green woven crossbody bag is an $100 find from Quince. And the necklace is from one of our go-to jewelry brands, Mejuri.
We did a round up of 5 Denim Jackets for Spring earlier this season here.
