The Best Tops and Sweaters to Wear on Thanksgiving with Jeans (2025 Edition)

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where the vibe is equal parts cozy and celebratory. Like so many of us, I keep it pretty casual but still want to feel festive and put together. Between our Friendsgiving dinner on Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day with family, I always reach for my favorite jeans and a top or sweater that feels comfortable but still special.

If you also spend your holiday in denim, this edit is for you. I rounded up a mix of comfortable, polished tops and sweaters that pair perfectly with jeans—pieces that look great in photos, feel good all day, and still capture the spirit of the season.

Whether you’re hosting, traveling, or keeping things simple at home, here are my favorite Thanksgiving tops and sweaters to wear with jeans this year.

Lands’ End Fuzzy Turtleneck Lantern Sleeve Jacquard Sweater

If you love a classic Fair Isle but want something that feels a little fresher, this Lands’ End Fuzzy Turtleneck Lantern Sleeve Jacquard Sweater is such a good pick. The Rich Ginger Brown Fair Isle colorway feels perfect for Thanksgiving. It’s warm, cozy, and festive without being over the top.

It’s currently $109.95, on sale for $54.97 with code STORM, and available in regular and plus sizes, XS–3X. I love it with dark-wash jeans and cognac boots for an easy, pulled-together look that still feels comfortable enough for cooking, traveling, or hosting all day.

Evereve always has great unique separates, and this Lottie Cardigan is such a standout piece. The neutral plaid is striking and gives a fresh twist to a classic pattern.

It’s $139 and available in sizes XS through XL. I love it styled simply with a white tank and your favorite black jeans for an effortless Thanksgiving look that feels polished but comfortable.

J.Crew Cable-Knit Crewneck Sweater

I just bought this Cable-Knit Crewneck Sweater from J.Crew and wore it in Boston last weekend. It’s one of those easy, classic pieces that goes with everything. I took the small, and it fit well, though J.Crew sizing can be all over the place. I’m a small in this, but in their more fitted cashmere sweaters I’m more comfortable in a large.

It’s $118 and comes in several colors. I went with Ivory Lace, but the green and Mulberry are both rich and seasonal without feeling too on the nose. Pair it with medium or dark-wash jeans and gold hoops for a timeless Thanksgiving look.

It’s $128 and available in sizes XXS through XXL. I love how polished it looks with straight-leg jeans and loafers, but it would be just as pretty dressed up with a skirt for a more elevated Thanksgiving look.

I flipping love this one. Tuckernuck does such a great job of taking a basic and elevating it. The Merlot Embroidered Floral Frankie Sweater is beautifully made, with a rich color that feels so right for Thanksgiving. The sweet puff sleeve and detailed knit give it just enough personality without feeling fussy.

It’s $158 and available in sizes XXS through XXL. This might actually be what I end up wearing this year. It’s cozy, pretty, and looks perfect with dark-wash jeans and simple gold jewelry.
