Elder millennials rejoice because a staple of early 2010 fashion is making a triumphant return.
Fashion trends are cyclical; this fall, one of the most iconic footwear pieces is making a strong comeback—Hunter boots.
Known for their classic design, durability, and versatility, Hunter boots have long been a staple in our wardrobes. So if you’ve been eyeing a pair or have a dusty pair in your closet, it is time to bring them out and step (back) into the trend, but in new, more logical way.
Here’s why Hunter boots are back in style and why you should embrace them this season.
The Timeless Appeal of Hunter Boots
Trend forecasting is one of my favorite parts of my job because it’s all about observing and analyzing. And what we’re seeing is Hunters trending on TikTok with both the younger and older generations agreeing that these boots need a revival.
About 15 years ago, the original “fashion girl” influencers exploded onto the scene, bringing Hunter Boots to the forefront of fashion. Everyone was wearing them with everything. Honestly, in hindsight, we looked a little ridiculous. Lol.
We were wearing them with pencil skirts, fancy dresses, and, of course, skinny jeans and blanket scarves.
It could be a warm, DRY day, and we were rocking rain boots.
Thankfully, I never parted with my Hunter Boots. In fact, over the years, I’ve added a few more to my collection. They’ve always been a practical choice for my sports-mom life, whether it’s navigating muddy fields or rainy days, running errands, or shuttling the kids to and from school.
Today, we’re seeing them worn in a much more literal, practical way.
Think roaming the English Countryside, paired with oversized raincoats, your Barbour jacket, and thick, chunky knits. You’ll wear these when they are needed, on rainy days in the fall and spring, and create a look around them.
So, this fall and spring, consider adding a pair to the mix and creating thoughtful, intentional outfits with them as a key piece.
You only “need” one and I would recommend keeping the color either neutral or earth tone.
Last spring I picked up this pair on Amazon, and wore them all sports season.
These are the Women’s Play Tall Rain Boot. I am 5’10 and these just cover my calfs so they are a nice option if you are petite and want a tall boot.
And, while I don’t need them AT ALL, I just ordered this green pair, the Original Tall Rain Boot, which hit just below my knees.
So, this fall and spring, consider adding a pair to the mix and creating thoughtful, intentional outfits with them as a key piece.
