I’ve basically accepted that my at-home blowouts will never look like a salon blowout. I have a Shark Glossi Blow Dryer Brush that I love, and even with that I couldn’t quite get there. This spray is what was missing. Shake it, saturate damp hair from roots to ends (don’t skip the nape), comb it through, and blowdry with tension. That last part is important.

The result is smoother, shinier hair with serious frizz control and a glossy finish that actually holds. It also smells like an expensive blowout, which is its own kind of joy. This is now non-negotiable in my routine.

The Major Hairspray

I’d been using the same hairspray forever, on autopilot, never thinking about whether it was actually good. And if that wasn’t around I would use whatever was.

This one made me realize what I’d been settling for. It’s a superfine mist that gives flexible, buildable hold without any of that stiff, crunchy finish.

It gives flexible hold you can actually brush through, which matters when you want a full, bouncy blowout rather than something stiff and set. And it leaves hair shiny, which I did not expect from a hairspray.

I reach for it at the end of getting ready to smooth flyaways and tame my ends, which tend to get dry and frizzy no matter what. It gives everything that fresh-cut look and feel without adding any weight or grease. It lives on my vanity and I use it every single day.

The Hair Styling Balm

A silky, serum-like balm you work through damp hair to smooth frizz, define texture, and give hair a more polished finish as it dries. Timing is everything with this one: towel-dried hair is the sweet spot. Too wet and it won’t absorb, too dry and it sits heavy. Get the timing right and the difference is obvious.

My girls all have very curly hair and use this to define their curls. I use it on my straight hair for smoothness and polish. The fact that it works across such different hair types says everything about how well formulated it is.

The Mousse

I know. Mousse. Stay with me. This is nothing like the stiff, crunchy mousse you’re thinking of. It’s light and air-whipped, and it builds real volume without any coating or stiffness. I work a small amount through damp hair before I dry it when I want more body. Don’t overdo it, a little goes a long way. It also works beautifully if you use hot rollers or velcro rollers. And it layers well with the Glassy Smooth Blowdry Spray if you want volume and smoothness at the same time, which sounds like it shouldn’t work but absolutely does.

Don’t use too much, just enought to work through before you blow dry. It’s nice too if you use hot or velcro rollers.
