Pretty Spring Pieces from Nordstrom

I spent a little time perusing Nordstrom’s New Arrivals and found several pieces worth sharing. Without realizing it, I created a sort of capsule wardrobe with a color theme and a mix-and-match opportunity within our selections.

Below, you’ll find a range of price points, from investment jeans to affordable summer tops and a pretty dress (also available in plus) that can take you to any upcoming spring or summer event—think graduation parties, showers, etc.

Please note: This time of year, their popular new arrivals will sell out, so if you are interested in something, I recommend ordering quickly. I don’t know if this is an inventory issue, if everyone and their mother is shopping, or if they are just ordering smaller quantities. Either way, these will get limited fast.

Bay Cutout Sandal

I’ve never met a Sam Edelman shoe I didn’t love, and these are no exception, but just as predicted, as I go to hit publish, these are down to the final few.

But have no fear, I also found them fully stocked at Zappos.

They are so chic and updated, with contrasting raffia trim in an easy, wear with almost anything style. I especially love them with light wash summer jeans or wide leg linen trousers.

Run true to size.

Available at Nordstrom here in limited sizes.

And Zappos here fully stocked.

Long Sleeve Cotton Gauze Popover Top

A lightweight gauze shirt with a long sleeve is an excellent option if you prefer to cover your arms in the summer. I’m not saying you need to cover your arms; I’m simply acknowledging that some women are more comfortable this way.

Personally, I wear this kind of shirt with shorts to balance the outfit, and the gauze fabric adds some texture.

Also available in white, in XXS – XXL.

For a short sleeve option in the same fabric, consider their camp style shirt, available in five colors in XXS – XXL.

Both options run slightly full.

Herringbone Stretch Cotton Shorts

If you like a shorter short (which I do ) the Vineyard Vines Herringbone Stretch Cotton Shorts have a 3.5″ inseam and wonderful fit.

Available in nine summer-ready colors, for $68. Be sure to double check your size with their size chart.

The are well made, don’t ride up and they don’t (or shouldn’t) cling to your thighs.

Organic Linen Wide Leg Pants

If you like wearing linen in the summer, consider spending on the Organic Linen Wide Leg Pants from Eileen Fisher.

The linen is thick, it’s not see-through, it has beautiful drape and these will wear like iron. You may need a hem, an easy alteration that will make these a go-to pant for the season.

Size done one for the best fit, available in XS – XL. * Note, sizes are getting limited.

For more size options, including petite and plus, and a black option, shop here.

Stretch Organic Cotton Soft Jacket

I love this Stretch Organic Cotton Soft Jacket from Nordstrom private brand Caslon.

Available in tan, olive or navy, in XS – XXL.

Also available in plus sizes here, on sale!

It’s well priced, looks great with jeans, would pair well with shorts too, runs large.

Flutter Plissé Midi Dress

If you have a graduation party, shower or end of year school banquet, you might need a dress.

I ordered this Flutter Plissé Midi Dress by Chelsea28, in pink for my daughter’s sports banquet in May. It’s light, breezy, and only $79.50.

I’m going to wear it with these sandals in raffia.

Available in plus sizes here.

Statement Buckle Faux Leather Hobo Bag

I have been getting incredible wear out of this Mange Bag all spring, so I quickly ordered their Faux Leather Hobo Bag in off white, also available in black.

For $50 it’s a great seasonal update.

The Hiker Hover Straight Leg Jeans

Finally, I’m in my Mother Denim Era. This is my third pair of The Hiker Hover Straight Leg Jeans since January.

I scooped these up the second I saw them because I hate how wide-leg jeans look on me. I feel like a big square.

As a fan of straight-slim jeans, I can confidently say that these are the best I’ve come across. They also serve as a fantastic transition if you’re moving away from skinny jeans.

Keep in mind their sizing is all over the place. Sometimes, I size down, and sometimes I wear my actual size. Often, they don’t work for me at all.

For this pair, I went up one size.

Trying on jeans is exhausting, but you have to try them all on because you just never know what will work until you see them on your body.
