School is just letting out but we are already making plans for our Fourth of July celebration. So I thought I would create a few looks to inspire whatever your plans may be with a subtle and chic nod to patriotic dressing.
As usual, today’s post is filled with wearable, mix and match pieces, in a wide range of sizes, to make it easy to create several 4th of July outfit ideas. Some items you may already have, since my goal is to help you build out a wearable wardrobe, other pieces you can pick up to further expand your outfit options.
Easy Outfit Ideas for Your Fourth of July Weekend
What do you have planned for this summer?
Do you have plans to go on a special vacation? Are you stocking up on wine and hanging out with friends at home?
No matter your plans, let’s all enjoy the season, all summer long, and toast to the fact that we’re already nearly halfway through the year!
Long and Flowy
Dress, $42 | Earrings, $165 | Sandal, $129 |Tote, $35
I am not a Kohl’s shopper. There’s a Sephora in my local one so I do walk through to see what’s in the store but I never see anything that excites me. So imagine my surprise when I landed on this pretty red dress. I like the bold, sort of abstract tropical print, but there is also a gorgeous solid blue.
Available in XS – XXL for only $42.
I also like this smocked dress form Amazon for under $50 and specifically if you wear plus size, I like this botanical print maxi dress from Eloquii in sizes 14 – 34.
I added some elevated accessories, like these glamorous earrings from Julie Vos. They are unexpected which gives a fun twist.
And these popular Jeffrey Campbell flat sandals are one of my favorites for this time of year.
For a little chic practicality I added this Boat and Tote from LL Bean if you are like me and always lugging a ton of kid stuff to parties.
Skorts!!!
Skort, $118 | Top, $44.95 | Sneakers, $52 | Bag,$38 | Earrings, $75
Are you headed to a pool party or outdoor BBQ? In many parts of the country, it is super hot out. The trick to looking pulled together and staying cool is thoughtful details on summer basics.
A skort can be chic and sporty, and I love this one from Lilly Pulitzer with it’s fresh navy print and pretty gold button details.
For something less expensive I recently ordered this navy paisley golf skort from Amazon, available in sizes up to 3X for $35.
Then I paired it with a simple cotton polo from Lands End.
Alternatively HIGHLY recommend this quick dry gold shirt I found on Amazon. I lived in this last week in Florida, came home and ordered several more.
I also lived in these Tretron sneakers while down there and am thrilled with how comfortable they were.
For accessories, another pair of reader favorite Julie Vos earrings, this time her Penelope Studs, and maybe the best thing Lululemon has ever made, the everywhere bag.
Chambray
Top, $26.99 | Shorts, $98 | Sandals, $155 | Hoops, $13.95 | Bag, $198 | Belt, $60
Finally, a mix and match option with items you might already have, starting with this ruffle sleeved chambray top from Gap Factory for only $26.99.
You can wear this so many ways. Above, I featured it with these linen blend shorts from J.Crew. I’m showing them in “flax” but you could grab them in white.
OR you could pair the chambray with your favorite white jeans if the weather isn’t too hot. We love the Baby Bootcut jeans, also from Gap Factory, currently on sale for $28.
Then, tan accessories, starting with these best selling flat sandals form French Sole at Tuckernuck, this chic bucket bag from J.Crew, and, if you need a belt, I like the color and style of this one by Sam Edelman on Nordstrom.
