As we wrap up for the remainder of the year, I want to extend my most heartfelt thanks to you.
Thank you, whether you have been reading since the beginning or are brand new to our site.
Thank you so much for being supportive this year, for the community you help me create, for allowing me to try new things, for not freaking out when there was a typo, and for your never-ending thoughtfulness and generous spirit.
Thank you for every time you purchased through one of our links, for commenting, DM’ing, following, liking, and sharing. It all means the world to me.
We live in a fractured world. If you don’t agree with someone, it’s okay to be cruel. We give no thought to others’ feelings or the context of their lives and experiences.
Over the last two years, the world has become a lot meaner and less tolerant.
Yet somehow, this little corner of the internet continues to practice kindness and show love to each other.
While the backdrop of my site might be about fashion, beauty, and lifestyle, the foundation is my relationship with you and now, amazingly, the relationships you have formed with each other.
How beautiful is that?
It has been a challenging year for many of us, including myself.
But for the first time, I saw some of the challenges I faced changing, shifting, and making way for personal growth.
I’m not the same woman I was two years ago, and I think that’s a good thing. I feel more grown-up, confident and comfortable in who I am.
You have no idea how deeply my work and this community comforted me this year.
More times than I could count, I started my day just beat to the ground. And then, there would be an email or comment so genuine and sincere it brought me to tears.
We become so used to seeing people in our feeds that we can forget that there is an actual person behind a post or email. In this case a working mom living a very normal life filled with ups and downs. But you never lost sight of that.
So it seemed appropriate as I close out the office for the rest of the year to share our Christmas card with you. These are my girls, the loves of my life, Maddie, Ava and Vivi.
Christmastime, to me, is an opportunity to shine a light on the good in the world. To be grateful for the things we take for granted. To stop and appreciate how far we have come. And to tell people that we love them.
I hope as we end another difficult year, we can finally begin to heel and reset.
And I hope you know that your support and friendship has made a lasting impact on my family and me.
So, with that, Merry Everything, no matter what or if you celebrate. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy New Year .. all of it, to you and everyone you love.
xxx, Meg
