Let’s talk about basics.
I have a few thoughts on them.
First, you need them, obviously. They are the key to making sure you can put an outfit together. You have “a closet full of nothing to wear when you lack them.”
Second, the foundation for classic style is better basics, so if that’s your wheelhouse, you need a good assortment.
Finally, when it comes to where to spend and save, better basics are in the spend category.
UNLESS you find one that is fabulous and inexpensive, which I have 🙂
A Better Basic at a Better Price in All Sizes
I bought this last October in tan, black and navy. It’s a great piece, easy, fits and wears well, not tight but not too oversized.
And it’s only $28 in sizes XS – 6X.
It’s thin enough to add a blazer on top but you can still wear on its own.
Here, I’m wearing it with pieces that will look familiar.
The pants are from J.Crew Factory. I’ve worn them for a while but featured them most recently yesterday.
