The Best Affordable Ankle Boots

Sole Society, $60; 2. Dolce Vita, $80; 3. Old Navy, $42; 4. Sam Edelman, $120; 5.

Journee, $50

Need a new ankle boot to wear with your jeans?  We have you covered. Ankle boots are a fall staple. You can wear them with any style jean all season long. A quick online search shows dozens of styles, in a wide range of price points. Look long enough, and your eyes will start to glaze over. In our 30 Day Style Challenge, a few participants talked about feeling paralyzed when they shop. Overwhelmed by options, they end up not making any decisions and go home empty-handed. One of the goals of this blog is to help narrow the focus and provide a vetted list of recommendations based on everything we know about our readers.

Today we’re featuring five boots ranging from around $50 to a $120. We’re showing them in a light tan, but many of these are also available in black and other colors.

Sole Society, $60 Western inspired, with a suede body, these ankle boots will sit higher on your ankle and work especially well with boot cut bottoms or with tights and a skirt. Available in camel (shown above), black, and gray.

Dolce Vita, $80 For all my DSW fans, these simple suede boots with a subtle perforated detail, works with any style jean from boot cut to skinny legged.  Available in taupe and charcoal.

Old Navy, $42 At this price point, you can pick up a few of these, wear them to the ground and ditch them at the end of the season. Keep in mind, the material is all synthetic, but they are surprisingly decent quality. Available in chestnut, taupe, black and animal print.

Sam Edelman, $120 These are the ankle boots  live in.  They work with everything. I bought one pair last season, wore them constantly and they still look great.  Since my first pair, I’ve pick up more and I’m always surprised how they broaden my wardrobe options.  Works with any style leg. Available in a ton of colors and prints. The tan and black are the most wearable.

Journee, $50 Another DSW find, these ankle boots are classic and a little funky.  The side cut out is a cool edgy detail is you already have a basic bootie and want something different. Available in black, tan, navy,  gray  and nude.

  1. I have the Sam Edelman one in black suede. It’s a nice shoe, but it is not comfortable for an all-day wear. Hoping they break in fast!

  2. I have a challenging g situation. A broken right leg in a boot that is an inch plus platform. I am in need of a shoe that will even up using a 1″ or so platform style shoe. ( in lieu of a lift). Also am supposed to travel to punta Cana for a wedding. Staying on resort. Need a sandle that i can wear around the pool and resort. Extra challenge… i have a narrow heel .
