Sandal of the Summer

On Monday night Bri and I found ourselves with a few hours to ourselves. A rare treat these days. So we snuck out to dinner at one of our favorite local spots and … sat at the bar!

There was live music, a game on the TV, and a wait at the door.

It was the most normal night we had in a long time, and I was grateful for a few hours out of the house around other adults.

Hopefully, now that we’re vaccinated, it’s a sign of what’s to come.

With summer around the corner, we have a lot of plans on our calendar. Our oldest daughter is graduating from grade school; we have showers and weddings and nights out with friends scheduled.

We’re most looking forward to our trip to Greece this summer, initially planned for last June, but was obviously canceled.

With so much to look forward to, I need some new things. What’s hanging in my closet after a year of living in joggers and sweaters isn’t going to cut it. And, I’m ready to zhush things up.

One trend I jumped on is the woven block heel sandal.

I recently bought this version by Marc Fisher, and they work in so many outfits, it’s easy to see how they will be my go-to sandal of the summer.

So what do you wear these with? Pretty much anything, like a long maxi dress if you need a little lift. Because of the block heel, these look great with wide leg summer bottoms, in either full or crop length. Pair them with white jeans, or slim cut light wash jeans with a little fray detail at the bottom for a beachy vibe.

Available in cream (above), black, gold, and white. These run small so order a 1/2 size up.

Sandal of the Summer

  1. I have been eyeing a similar pair at DSW but think I like the heel on these better. I am struggling with what color. I love the cream and the other pair at DSW has a nice beige but I also feel like I need a dressed up casual black sandal-maybe I need more than one pair..

  2. I couldn’t agree more about the sandal! I purchased them in white from Nordstrom and liked them so much that I’ve ordered the gold as well. They really do go with everything and are reasonably priced. Love the block heel. Can’t wait to get out and wear them!

  3. I clicked on the link to purchase because I’ve been planning to buy a pair of sandals like this but unfortunately they’re sold out in my size & color combination 8.5 or 9 in the neutral tone. Hoping for find something similar.
