  7. Reader Five Faves: August...
Oh, Hey, September.

Thank goodness you’re here because the wheels are flying off my bus at home. While the summer was fun, I’m ready to wrap it up. We need routine, some structure, and for everyone to get out of the house.

This year, for the first time, I’ll have three kids in three different schools: high school, middle school, and nursery school, and my head is spinning with all the dates and details to remember. So I plan to spend time getting us as organized over the long weekend, so when I finally have some quiet, I can work with some level of normalcy – whatever that is these days.

September marks the start of my favorite season, and as always, we have some fun and helpful content to share. But, most important is our Fall Wardrobe Challenge, which starts this Friday

Ladies, this challenge is a game-changer, and it’s free. Over 1,000 women have taken part in it over the years. It is truly the cornerstone of our community. I invite you to spend the next month with us, and you’ll be ready for a stylish fall and winter. (The next challenge will be in January).

So let’s close out August by highlighting your five favorites items, all perfect for carrying right into the new season.

Reader Five Faves: August 2021

Readers Favs August 2021

To determine our monthly reader faves I look at our analytics and listen to your feedback to share the best sellers.

Last month you loved a variety of items, including the most popular sneakers we’ve ever featured and some of my personal favorite beauty products.

Nike Running Sneakers

Nike React Escape Run Running Shoe

Nike React Escape Run Running Shoe, $100

The sleeper hit of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, an incredible number of readers picked these up (myself included!). I’m not taking these to the gym, rather, they are for every day, casual outfits when the look needs a little kick.
Runs true to size, all sizes still available

ROC Retinol Deep Wrinkle Cream

RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Night Cream
ROC RETINOL CORREXION Deep Wrinkle Night Cream, $25

I featured this ROC cream last week and was delighted to hear from so many readers who are already using and enjoying it. You can view the post here. It’s perhaps the best drugstore beauty product I’ve ever used.

Tory Burch Lug Bootie

Tory Burch Chelsea 50mm Lug Bootie
Tory Burch Chelsea 50mm Lug Bootie, $378

These are a splurge, for sure. But if you have the budget, they’ll be the boot you wonder how you lived without. I went with the tan (above) or you can go with black. I thought the tan would give me more options. You’ll wear these with jeans and leggings paired with oversized sweaters and “shackets.”

LOFT Softblend Hoodie

Lou & Grey Signature Softblend Hoodie
Lou & Grey Signature Softblend Hoodie, $79.50*

*take  50% off 2+ styles, or 40% off 1 style with CODE: YIPPEE

Ideal for school runs and working from home, this hoodie is the definition of cozy. Best of all LOFT is at it again with another monster sale, right now you can *take  50% off 2+ styles, or 40% off 1 style with CODE: YIPPEE. See our top picks here

Tatcha THE CAMELLIA CLEANSING OIL 2-in-1 Makeup Remover & Cleanser

The Camellia Cleansing Oil, $48

Finally, I was so delighted to see the The Camellia Cleansing Oil on the list. I’ve been using this for years. I use it as the first step in my evening double cleanse. It melts away your makeup and sunscreen without harsh ingredients and is incredibly gentle on your skin, especially the delicate areas around your eyes.

  1. I bought the Tatcha camellia cleansing oil based on seeing your recommendation so many times! I thought, she wouldn’t keep mentioning this unless it was really fantastic! Received it, used it, and love it! It was the skin care product I didn’t know I needed! Thank you, thank you!

  2. I hear you, sister! Some normality, and structure etc would be great. This is why I love your authenticity. Here in New Zealand, we are slowly coming out of lockdown again!

  3. I have become a HUGE Tatcha fan and this oil is a fave of mine also. I also use the rice cleansing powder, and the serum in the purple bottle. I had skin that would not stop peeling due to retinol I had been using, even 6 months after I stopped using it and LOTS of moisturizing with everything I could find. I had nothing to lose and figured I’d give the serum a try. In only 3 days my skin was not only back to normal, it looked better than it had! It’s a bit pricey likely because of the beautiful packaging, but it takes so little that I’m happy to stay a devotee. 🙂
