Must Have Piece: New Denim Jacket

New Denim JacketLeft, $118; Right, $50

It’s finally denim jacket season! Every year I find a classic style, in Missy and Plus to have ready for clients who will inevitably say, “You know what I could use? I great denim jacket.” If you are also on the hunt for this super useful classic, these (left and right)  are my favorites of the season.

I get trends and certainly partake from time to time, but I can’t get down with the new take on a denim jacket. Ripped, cropped (what’s the point exactly?) or pre shrunk styles confuse me, and my clients. If I showed them any such jacket, they would be think I had officially lost it.

But done in a traditional style, it fills a void in many of our wardrobes. It’s what you grab to throw over a cotton knee length or maxi dress. I wear it over a cotton tee and my favorite “painter pants.” Worn with a scarf you could go from yoga class to brunch on Sunday. It’s the most versatile piece of your spring wardrobe, that you will grab the second the leaves start to change in September.
