So happy to see the enthusiasm for the Striped Twill Utility Jacket from LOFT.
It’s available in regular and petite sizes XXS – L. Retail is $120, but we don’t pay retail at LOFT. Use code OMG for 40% off.
There’s a lot to like. First, the internal drawstring can be adjusted to pull you in and highlight your shape.
This style works for any body type.
It’s a linen/cotton blend, so you’ll get the benefit of lightweight linen, while the cotton helps minimize wrinkles. Of course, you’ll never be wrinkle-free with linen, but the cotton will add a crispness.
Plus, the tight black and white stripe act will also hide wrinkles.
It’s a great little jacket, perfect for warm weather styling. Depending on where you live, you can wear this through September in many different ways.
And for our friends in year-round warm parts of the country, now is the time to pick up “transition” pieces so you have options when retail inevitably turns its full attention to cold weather styles and fabrics.
How to Wear the LOFT Striped Linen Jacket Three Ways
Striped Twill Utility Jacket, $120 use code OMG for 40% OFF
High Waist Skinny Jeans, $45 | Scoop Neck Tank, $22.50 | Linked Stud Earrings, $68 | White Sneaker, $65
This jacket is adorable paired with jeans.
Here we’re using the Wit & Wisdom White skinny ankle jeans. Sizes are limited but still available in regular and petite. And they are on summer sale for $45.
Use your favorite white bottom here, including our reader favorites from Old Navy, Madewell and NYDJ.
Keep the line of your body long with a simple white tank. Featured above is also from LOFT, with a scoop neckline, which works beautifully with the jacket’s shape.
So they won’t last; grab them up while you can.
Then we went with a simple white sneaker from Superga because many of you have these in your closets. The profile works well with the entirety of the look. Skip a big chunky sneaker in this application.
Finally, a pretty pair of silver earrings. Fresh and modern-looking silver jewelry is tough to find. But brands like MEJURI offer options at very reasonable prices. Great if you’re building out your jewelry capsule.
Of course, this combination is flexible. You can swap out the white jeans for any other denim, like black or a dark wash. Either option can bring you into early fall.
With Black Linen Pants
Linen-Blend Pants, $20 | Ribbed Tank, $40 | Slide Sandals, $50 | Straw Bag
The single most popular item featured here on The Well Dressed Life this summer are the Old Navy Linen-Blend Pants in black. They are $20 and come in sizes XS – 4X in regular, petite, and tall.
You can wear them a million ways, we shared some here.
And they would be PERFECTION with this jacket. Almost like a casual summer suit.
Keep this simple with a white tank of your choice. For options, the featured tank is a ribbed, semi-fitted style from Banana Republic.
We’re using white, but you can create that long body line with a black tank too.
With a wide leg bottom, I like a block heel to help balance the volume. And I immediately wanted to use this woven slide by Vince Camuto. Another popular Reader Favorite from the season so you may already have it.
Finally, we sold J.Crew out of this straw bag after featuring it in our recent round up, so if you scored it, be sure to incorporate in looks like this one.
Raw Edge Tank, $35 | Linen Shorts, $49.50 | Straw Hat, $35.50 | H-Band Slide Sandals, $35
Finally, pair this versatile jacket with shorts.
Here, we’re using pull linen shorts from J.Crew available in sizes XXS – 3X.
If you don’t want to use linen you can wear your favorite style. A chino would be lovely or you can wear the popular Spanx shorts.
For subtle pop of color, we’re featuring the Halogen Raw Edge Tank in Lavender.
I always like a flat with a pair of shorts, it helps add balance to the outfit. So here I used these H-Band Slides, “inspired” by the Hermes sandals but these are $35 instead of $600.
Finally, for a day of strolling and shopping, grab a hat, like this best selling packable hat from Madewell, marked down to under $20.
