How to Wear our Favorite Pieces from this Season

I put a ton of thought into every post and the items I buy for the shop so that each recommendation layers into your wardrobe seamlessly.  When I pull a post together, I look back to the items we featured over the previous weeks and the items you liked best.  My goal is that as the season progresses, the blog is resource of mix and match pieces that comes together to help you build a classic and modern wardrobe.

Now that it’s November (how?) I thought I would show you how to mix and match some of these pieces into your wardrobe as we move into the cold weather.  Let’s take a look …

Combination One

Combination one

Coat, $186; Scarf, $32; Gloves, $88

This coat by Eliza J is by far my favorite coat of the season and it’s wonderfully affordable.  If you’re looking for a coat you can wear with everything, this on goes to work, or can be thrown over jeans and boots.  When I was buying for the shop I saw this chic scarf that combines neutrals in an elegant plaid, I bought it immediately. The best part is the price, it’s only $32.  Finally, if you need a new pair of gloves ( I know I do) these cashmere lined leather gloves from Bloomingdales are under $100.  They are also a fantastic gift for the holidays.

 Cardigan, $42; Tank, $68; Jeans, $158; Booties, $120

This plaid and fringe cardigan from our shop is quintessentially fall.  You can wear it to any seasonal activity or just to a friends house for drinks.  I paired it with these Joes Jean’s which are the best selling jeans we’ve featured this season.  Need a layering tank?  This versatile one by Elie Tahari comes in white and black and layers under a casual sweater or a formal blazer.  For a boot,  Sam Edelman is our shoe designer of the season.  I live in these boots most days.

Cardigan, $39; Tank, $68; Jeans, $89; Sneakers, $75

For a super casual look we found a slouchy cardigan that isn’t too long. Why do so many look like bathrobes? This one comes in S/M or M/L for under $40.   I used the same tank, because it’s not inexpensive but you will get your moneys worth out of it.  The boyfriends jeans are by KUT from the Kloth.  They are loose and distressed but they’re not baggy and beat up.  (An important distinction.) For sneakers, you can’t beat these slip on sneakers by Sperry.  They are comfortable and sporty without you wearing your gym sneakers.

Combination Four

Vest, $35; Sweatshirt, $39; Jeans, $158; Booties, $120

Finally, let’s talk about this sweatshirt.  The picture does it no justice.  I am currently living in it.  I wear it under my quilted vest, this one by Old Navy has been incredibly popular. You can wear it with the Joe’s Jeans and ankle boots, or your Zella leggings and the black versions of the Sperry sneakers.
