If you picked up this navy tie neck blouse from Ann Taylor earlier this week, and many of you did, I’m sharing two ways to wear it today.
As the weather starts to turn, you’ll probably need some lighter weight tops, and this one is lovely. It’s simple and classic, with easy details, like a gentle puff sleeve and tie neckline that help it feel finished.
Best of all it’s on sale for 40% off with the code STYLISH. It was NOT on sale last night, so I don’t know when it will go back to regular price.
Available in regular and petite sizes from XXS – XXL.
And please note, this post is not just filled with inspiration, but also lots of tips and early spring finds in a range of sizes, so be sure to read the details of each outfit and item.
How to Wear a Navy Tie Neck Blouse
Tie Neck Puff Sleeve Top, $79.50
With White Pants
Wide-Leg Button-Tab Flannel Pants, $56 | Heeled Sandal, $89 | Leather Frame Clutch, $78 | Clip on Earrings
Navy and white is a classic combination. For this look I wanted to offer something other than a white skinny jeans (although they would look great here too in the summer) and I am thrilled with what I found.
These elegant wide-leg pants from Banana Republic, are ideal for transition weather.
Because the pants have a pleated detail, you want to tuck in the blouse.
It should be noted the pants on the model over on the BR website are too short. You want these to break on top of your shoe/heel height. Doing so will make your legs look longer.
And, finally, if you pick up these pants, especially at such a great price, you might consider swapping out the button on the waist tab with a white one, so it’s not as noticeable.
Then, gold accessories are a natural fit. I love these sandals by Marc Fisher. A block heel helps balance the volume of the pants. The woven detail started trending last season, and we’ll see a lot of it going into the warmer months of 2022.
I found this bag, in winter white, by House of Want for under $100. The chain detail acts as an accessory, so you don’t need to over do it with your jewelry.
Finally, small door knocker earrings made sense here. I like the shape and size of these.
With Black Pants
Straight Leg Pants, $128 | Suede Pumps, $185 | Woven Tote, $88 | Stud Earrings, $88
Navy and black together is considered a chic and modern color combination. And personally, it’s my favorite, especially if you prefer navy against your face rather than black.
I’m using these Nic + Zoe black straight stretch pants. They should stop at or cover your ankles and sit away from your body.
You can find these at many better department stores, in petite, regular, and plus size.
I went with low heel pumps in black suede from J.Crew for shoes. Use code WARMUP, and they go down to under $140 (Originally $228). A great wardrobe staple!
Finally, simple stud earrings and this popular woven tote by Aqua round out the look.
