I’ve talked dozens of times about my affection for H&Ms knits. They look, feel and wear remarkably better than any department store brand and the price cannot be beat.
On Monday we featured our round-up of top picks from H&M’s new arrivals, and this cream sweater was a reader favorite.
Still available in a range of sizes, from XS – XXL and it’s priced at, wait for it, $17.
So let’s make some outfits, shall we?
How to Wear H&M’s Cream Knit Sweater
Now, of course, you can wear this sweater with your favorite jeans and boots, but I wanted to show just how versatile it is with three completely different looks.
With Coated Jeans
Coated Jeans, $70 | Stretch Booties, $228 | Braided Bag, $223 | Pearl Huggies, $44
For the next few seasons, you will see coated or faux leather jeans and trousers in different cuts and styles in a range of price points.
This pair is from Express and was popular with our readership at the beginning of the year. So if you have them, you’ll have lots of opportunities to wear them again in the fall.
Sizes are still available, though limited.
Alternatively, you may like this pair from KUT from the Kloth, featured in the Nordstrom Sale this summer.
The sweater’s texture works well with the finish of the bottoms and adds richness to the outfit.
If you wear a pair of straight bottoms, consider a bootie with some stretch, so the top of the boot fits under the leg opening. This will give you a long, uninterrupted line to your leg.
Here, I’m using a versatile pair with a block heel and suede finish from Ann Taylor.
Then, we continue to play with texture and add edginess with accessories.
This braided bag available on Wolf and Badger is STUNNING. I love the shape, handle and gold crossbody chain.
Side note, I need to improve my social life to start wearing things like this.
Finally, these 14K gold huggie earrings are marked down by almost 60% at Nordstrom Rack. I like the updated mix of elements and the hint of femininity they add to the outfit.

With Joggers
Joggers, $40 | Corduroy Cap, $15 | Woven Scarf, $13 | Sneakers, $110 | Stud Earrings, $58
This is how you make sweatpants chic.
By playing in monochromatic tones, and layering in neutral textures you can be a hot mess but look like a million bucks.
And here, we’re not splurging on anything. This is really about creating an elegant look with super affordable pieces. It’s all about how you put things together and style them.
Starting with a pair of ivory joggers from Amazon’s The Drop, available in sizes XXS – 5X.
Again, when you play with texture, you immediately elevate a look. It’s why I lean toward recommending textured pieces before prints and patterns. I think you get more use out of them.
Then, we’re adding in variations of neutral tones.
Starting with this tan corduroy cap for $15 and beige scarf for $13, both available at H&M.
I squealed when I landed on these sneakers from Madewell. SQUEALED.
I just adore an updated, “fashion” sneaker and these are seriously gorgeous. These are best sellers and will sell out so scoop them up if they are your vibe.
OR if you remember back in January, we featured these Veronica Beard Sneakers at a deep discount. And it looks like they are back on sale. I have these and they are stunning in person.
For jewelry, wear your every day pieces. Stack bracelets, layer some necklaces, and add simple earrings, like these lovely everyday white topaz studs from Mejuri for under $60.
With Trousers
Straight Leg Pants, $98 | Slingback Pumps, $99 | Tote Bag, $178 | Scarf, $11 | Gold Hoops, $14
Headed to the office?
Then this look is for you.
Start with you favorite pair of trousers.
You could use black or navy here too, but the dark tan, when paired with other neutrals, is very updated.
Those neutrals include a chic yet functional work tote from Calpak in the color toffee and block heel slingback pumps in cognac by Vince Camuto.
And for a little pop of something, I just received this scarf from Amazon and it’s perfect to tie around your bag or in your hair (and it’s only $11), and because they are my favorite find of the summer, the Amazon gold hoops for $14.
