There’s a misconception that comfort equals sloppy. You can be comfortable, all day long, without wrapping yourself in lycra. If you’re end goal when getting dressed  is to look sophisticated, classic and pulled together, you need elements in your outfit that create balance, structure and ground your look. Today’s Weekend Inspiration is an example of total comfort, with tons of style.

I like using the Find of the Week in our Friday posts, especially when I know many of you picked it up. These Kate Spade for Keds leopard print sneakers are so stinking cute. Because they’re bold, you want to keep the rest of the look simple but modern. Let’s work from the bottom up. I want a black jean and thought it would be cool to do one with a little distressing, but I know many of you are not down with that look. Instead, I found these jet black stretch jeans by NYDJ with a frayed hem. They’re a fun way to add a little edge without going full on ripped jean. You’re welcome 🙂

Because the sneaker and jean are substantial, you can balance it with a simple ($12) sweatshirt from H&M. It’s a tad oversized, so if you wanted to use it as a layer, you could. I would just wear a tank underneath. To add some depth, I used a casual scarf in a darker gray. By doing this, you add some visual interest without fighting with the print of the sneaker.

Finally, I LOVE this black satchel from Sole Society. It brings some structure to the overall outfit. It also reminds me of the Chloe Satchel that I use every day in my imaginary alternate universe where I have a money tree growing in my backyard. To up the cool factor, wear a simple pair of aviators that never go out of style.
