This outfit is right.up.my.alley.
So many of us work in a casual office. Maybe you’re in tech or IT, where if you show up in anything resembling a skirt, or God forbid a blazer people wonder out loud if you’re interviewing. But just because your work buddies lean towards the über casual, doesn’t mean you have to dumb down your style.
There is a way to be casual and still humor your inner lady. The star of this outfit is this lace top from LOFT. It’s gorgeous. I love the neckline, the 3/4 sleeve and how it fits the body. Think of it as one step dressing; it’s a straightforward piece that only works with pants.
The two outfits are similar but give a different vibe. For the first outfit, I paired the blouse with my favorite pair of jeans by DL 1961. I cannot recommend them enough they are ridiculously comfortable. Because they have a straight leg, they feel a little more professional than a skinny. How cute are these tartan plaid pumps? They add some personality and a wink to the season for, wait for it, $35. Thank you Old Navy.
I love both of the earrings we featured, so they are interchangeable within the looks. I’m on board anytime you can take a classic and give it a modern twist, especially with jewelry or accessories.
In the second outfit, I used the crazy popular J Crew factory pull on pant that so many of you picked up earlier this season. The lace top will sit perfectly on the top of the pants, creating a cohesive line to your body. It’s dressy, but not overdressed. To keep the look on the casual side, I used these pointed flats from Target instead of a pump.
For both looks, you want a handbag that brings out the ladylike quality. I picked this bag by Tory Burch because it’s simple, classic and feminine. It’s more for inspiration than a recommendation to go out and buy it.
