Poplin Top: ON SALE $34.80, AG Distressed Jean, $235 (I know but I love them), Nine West Wedge (similar here), Clutch (waitlist open), vintage necklace

A simple top with one unique element is my jam. In this case, a summer poplin top with a tailored bell sleeve and subtle stripe kicks the style up a notch without being too much. I picked this up a few months back for my trip to Chicago to visit some girlfriends and have worn it quite a bit since then. (also available in, black, blue pink, red and on sale in white.) It’s light, so even though it has a sleeve, it’s comfortable for a mild summer day.

I wore this to a lunch meeting last week to discuss some new additions to the blog and shop. You can wear the top with a pair of chino shorts for a polished casual look. I decided to paired it with my go to jeans because it wasn’t too warm out and sometimes, at this point in the summer, I just miss wearing jeans.

Last summer I picked up a pair of Nine West wedges (pictured) and had worn them to death. They go with everything from jeans and shorts to casual cotton dress. I took good care of them last season, and they still look like new. I found these that look like they are this seasons version.

Finally, I carried one of our clutches from the shop. These might be the best thing I’ve ever sourced. It’s slim but fits a surprising amount of essentials. I’m trying to carry less, and all I need at lunch meeting is my phone and thin notebook. I have the wait list open with a new order coming in over the next few weeks.

Have a great weekend! xo

  1. I got this top – inspired by your blog and I love it BUT … I just HATE ironing and this one definitely requires that! Still, it’s so pretty and goes well with many occasions.

    1. You’re right, I hate ironing too but if you add a little starch to it it stays crisp throughout the day!
