Must Have Piece: Chic and Affordable Backpack

Must Have BackpackBackpack, $40

I know you’ll be shocked to hear that I have some very strong opinions about backpacks. They are either too collegiate, ugly or worn at inappropriate times.  Over the years, though, my disdain has softened as it’s become more obvious that there are some occasions when being hands free is necessary. Like, when you take your kids to a theme park. Which is what is happening in a few weekends when we head down to Orlando and go to Universal for a few days, specifically to see all things Harry Potter.

There are two kinds of people in the world, those that LOVE places like Universal and Disney, and people like me, who go because they love their children. I cannot imagine going to either of these places sans kiddos. If I ever tell you that Bri and I are going on a kid free trip to Orlando and are super excited about our night out in Epcot, commit me, immediately, because I have clearly lost my mind.

Anyway, I’m getting ready for the trip and realized I really should get a backpack. The weather is going to go from cool to warm, the kids are going to have their Gryffindor capes, and wands, and who knows what else I’ll be stuck carrying, so a backpack makes sense. I thought it would be a challenge finding one that was  good looking,  roomy enough for all their gear, and affordable.

Turns out, it took all of 5 minutes for me to find this Silence + Noise backpack at Urban Outfitters.  Dare I say I love it?

It’s made of nylon, so it can get wet and won’t be too heavy. It’s has a simple design, super comfortable straps and is actually pretty chic. The best part is it’s only $39.99. Easy peasy. I’m so pleasantly surprised.  I’m thinking it might be a great item to pack on our trip to Europe this summer for sightseeing days too!

If you need one for an upcoming trip, don’t hesitate.  It’s available in ivory (what I bought) and classic black.

  1. This made me laugh, remember when we went to Disney and I took my Gucci backpack… and I recall our horror at the whole experience and the sheer delight at the same time! #memoriesneverforgotten
