Find of the Week: Allbirds Tree Skippers

Find of the Week - Allbirds Tree Skippers - The Well Dressed Life

I am so excited about this Find of the Week, the Allbirds Tree Skippers. I have a big crush on slip-on sneakers and own several pairs. I wanted to add to my collection this Spring, but second-guessed myself.

All of the options I liked were just different colors of pairs I already owned. I decided to save my pennies until something a bit more exciting came along. I needed to break out of my slip-on rut.

And then as if my inbox was listening to me (it probably is), I received an email from Allbirds announcing their new Tree Skippers. Though I am not in love with the name, I am definitely in love with this shoe.

Allbirds Tree Skippers, $95

How cuuuuuuuute are these!? I want them in every color, but settled on the rose, since it will work with a lot of my Spring wardrobe. All three color options are great neutrals, so pick whichever you think fits in with your wardrobe (and do it quickly, because some colors and sizes are on back order already).

I love the laces detail which add a bit of flair to an otherwise simple shoe. You’ll find me chasing my toddler wearing a version of this outfit with these sneakers.

Also, we should pause for a moment to talk about how awesome this company is. Allbirds is focused on using natural materials and is committed to having the lowest carbon footprint as possible. Their first shoe, the Wool Runners, is made from temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, machine washable, and sustainable merino wool.

The new Tree Skippers are made from breathable, moisture-absorbing, machine washable, and sustainable eucalyptus tree fiber. Both shoes use laces that are made from recycled plastic bottles. Even their eyelets are made from bio-based materials.

Oh and that’s not all! When you are finished with your shoes, you can return them to Allbirds, who will donate them to people in need with the help of Soles4Souls. You can read more about Allbirds and the cool things they are doing here.

And for what it’s worth, I gifted the Wool Runners to my impossible-to-shop-for husband a couple of Christmases ago, and to date it’s one of my most well-received gifts I have given him.

He’s a frequent flyer, so he likes that he can wear them to the airport for comfort while still looking a bit more polished than a regular pair of logo-laden running shoes. So if you have an impossible-to-shop-for man in your life, you can tuck that gift idea away for the right time.

These are cute! Do you wear these with no show socks or do you go barefoot with them??

I go barefoot because I loathe socks! These shoes are machine-washable, so I can take care of them should they start to stink.
