Oh, look another photo of me. That’s exciting. My hair looks pretty good in these, so that’s nice. I was worried, I thought I needed my roots touched up.
For today’s Fashion Friday post, we’re featuring a new cardigan just listed in the store, and the outfit I’ve been wearing most weekends. I wanted to wait to post until I had enough in inventory, as I’m learning anything with a patch on the elbow is a sellout – who knew?!
I’m showing this with what we call a “column of color.” Take a black tank, add a black bottom, and voila, you have a column of color. Doing this is an easy way to create a long, lean line to your body. You “cut” the column with any jacket or cardigan, long or short, it doesn’t matter. Once you add the layer, the eye is drawn in and down, making you appear long and lean. It’s a simple and magical formula that works on every single body type. It also makes packing for a trip extra easy. Just create a few columns, bring along some layers, and you’re done.
For this look, I used some go-to staples from my wardrobe. These Hinge tanks are divine. They are so soft and wash well. If you are in between sizes, go up one, I’m wearing a medium. The leggings are Zella Live in Leggings, and I do just that, almost every day I work from home and on the weekends. The long necklace enhances the line of the outfit and adds visual interest and some movement. The beauty of these pieces is you can take it into any season by switching out the accessories. In the winter, I wear it with my riding boots (p.s. at a great sale price) and add an infinity scarf (not shown). Come spring you can remove the scarf and wear a ballet flat.
You could go to the kid’s school, meet some friends for coffee, head to the grocery store, or even get on a flight in this, or a version of it, and look lovely and effortless. Easy peasy.
