Chic of the Week: Bathing Suit Cover Ups Under $100

A chic bathing suit cover up is a must have for your next trip to the beach, but they can be a challenge to find.  So many of them are crazy expensive ($500??) or cover less than the bathing suit does.  For me, I like to have a few options.  I like sporty pieces for days at the beach with my very active kids or something a bit more elegant for quiet vacations with my husband.  For either situation, it’s important that they aren’t too fussy, and cover enough to be able to run back to our house from the beach or grab a casual lunch and cocktails at a resort. And, because I have real issue spending a small fortune on something that will likely only last a season, we kept the list to options under $100 – in most cases well under.

Kid Friendly Kid Friendly Cover Ups1. Splendid Topanga Stripe Swim Cover Up Tunic, $75; 2. LOFT Beach Short Sleeve Cover Up, $25; 3. J VALDI Eyelet Tunic Coverup, $35

Splendid Topanga Stripe Swim Cover Up Tunic, $75

Love the stripes and solid back.  This is adorable, especially if you tend to wear solid colored suits.

LOFT Beach Short Sleeve Cover Up, $25

Simple, pretty and affordable.  I would go with the white for a crisp summer look, but it’s also available in black and navy.

J VALDI Eyelet Tunic Coverup, $35

This sweet and preppy coverup looks much more expensive than its $35 price tag.

1. La Blanca Rainbow Espana Tunic Cover-Up, $99; 2. Vix Sofia by Vix Solid Pink Natasha Chemise Cover-Up, $88; 3. Forever 21 Scarf Print Cover-Up Dress, $20

La Blanca Rainbow Espana Tunic Cover-Up, $99

Bold and playful this tunic will make you feel like a woman who vacations professionally.

Vix Sofia by Vix Solid Pink Natasha Chemise Cover-Up, $88

The ruffled sleeve and deep v neck might look out of place on the beach with the kids – at least in Cape May.  But, with an wide brim hat and over sized sunglasses you’d fit right in at an adult only resort.

Forever 21 Scarf Print Cover-Up Dress, $20

This is what I would keep in my pool bag for a trip to the resort resturant or to walk around an island after a beach day.  It looks nothing like what I would normally wear, and that’s the fun of it.  For $20 it’s an easy way to mix it up without making a commitment.
