White Jeans

Must Have Piece: White Jeans You Can’t See Through

White jeans. The elusive wardrobe staple that, when done well, can make any outfit crisp and fresh. They both dress up and give a casual vibe to any look. Of course, finding a pair that fits properly and isn’t entirely see through feels almost impossible. Years ago I found a now discontinued pair of white designer jeans at an outlet (for like $40) that I wore until they were threadbare. I would have paid an absurd amount of money to replace them. I tried on every pair of white jeans in every store I frequent with no luck.

Chelsea28 Scalloped Suede Jacket

Must Have Piece: Suede and Scalloped Blazer

Blazers are a staple in my spring wardrobe. I wear them to death. My go-to is a fitted, one button, slim cut that I usually pair with jeans and also ankle pants. This year, I’d like to add a few more that have a different shape and feel to avoid getting bored in the next few months.

Louise et Cie Gabbin Sandal

Must Have Piece: Wear-All-Spring Sandal

With the change of season comes the need for a few new pair of shoes, and this pair is not to be missed. I tend to lean towards neutral, classic shoes that go with everything. Other than a pair of leopard print pumps, my shoes are a sea of beige, tan and black. But, every now and then something with added interest can also work as a neutral – like these block heeled sandals by Louise et Cei.

The color is rich and gorgeous. Because they sit in the middle of the color spectrum they are a lovely option for all skin tones. The texture adds incredible interest without being too obtrusive; they won’t fight with your outfit. A subtle gold trim makes these modern and elegant.

Cluse Watch

Must Have Piece: Cluse Watch

Because we all live on our smartphones, it feels like the need for a watch has diminished. Lately, though, I’ve been on the search for one. A simple, gold, everyday watch to layer with my bracelets. I was so excited when I found this Cluse watch. I knew it was perfect. It looks expensive but is affordable at under $120. It’s simple, sophisticated and goes with everything.

Must Have Backpack

Must Have Piece: Chic and Affordable Backpack

I know you’ll be shocked to hear that I have some very strong opinions about backpacks. They are either too collegiate, ugly or worn at inappropriate times. Over the years, though, my disdain has softened as it’s become more obvious that there are some occasions when being hands free is necessary. Like, when you take your kids to a theme park. Which is what is happening in a few weekends when we head down to Orlando and go to Universal for a few days, specifically to see all things Harry Potter.

  • August is when I start to get bored with my summer work clothes. But I don’t want to spend when fall is right around the corner. In today’s Wear to Work series, we’re showing you what to buy now, and how to wear now and later with this @anntaylor tie neck shell. It’s pretty much the perfect layering piece. Link in profile.
